We would like to welcome our newest PhD student, Ruidong Mei who finished his undergraduate studies at Sichuan University in China. Ruidong will be working on predicting the plastic behaviors of advanced alloys through computational techniques.

Prof. El-Awady gives an invited talk titled “Pushing Computations to the Extremes: Modeling the Evolution of Dislocation Structures Under High Thermo-Mechanical Conditions During Additive Manufacturing” at the IPAM Workshop on “Increasing the Length, Time, and Accuracy of Materials Modeling Using Exascale Computing” at UCLA.
